Happy Heavenly 10th Birthday Eve Marie! This gift Happy Heavenly 10th Birthday Eve Marie! This gift has been in the making for close to a decade. I wrote this song as a way to grow in grief and as you can see, have trouble playing it without crying. Eve has taught me so many life lessons and I have made some recent changes to my mental health focus, career and hobbies to better honour her memory and be a more present human being. Recording this song has been a can I’ve been kicking down the road for over 6 years and I’m happy to share this with Eve on her 10th birthday. Songbird Original Sessions #Season 2 - Song 8 ‘Goo Songbird Original Sessions #Season 2 - Song 8 ‘Good Grief’ Grief. When you’re in it, you’re in it. I wrote this when I was in the deepest part of the forest. I’ve always loved the lyrics in this song, as they were true to how my soul was processing, however I’ve been toying around with making the vibe upbeat while the message maintains its weight. This musical oxymoron is such a catharsis of accepting and embracing grief and baring the life lessons learned with pride. Hence my smile at the end with the happy chord. Nice to add the backdrop of a week up north on a lake with family to inspire this version. Hope ya dig! Songbird Sundays Original Series #Season 2 - Song Songbird Sundays Original Series #Season 2 - Song 7 ‘Man Of Your Word’ My apologies on being a little quiet lately as I’ve been spending some time focusing on family and myself. This song is one of those special ones that came out quick. My family was vacationing in Freeport, Bahamas over March Break. A visit to the market on a rainy day inspired the idea for this song. As I told many vendors we would visit each booth as a family, she responded after our visit that she liked that I was a ‘Man Of My Word’. I wrote this song in about 5 minutes once back at the resort. There is no greater honour, responsibility and sense of purpose than being a parent. This song is about how fast my son is growing up and my hope that I doing a good job as a dad. Hope ya dig!
