Proud DAD Moment! My first official collaboration with my son, Jack Ryan, on one of my songs (‘Days Go By’ - Out Today Everywhere)Recently I’ve discovered that I have an orthodox ear to hearing music. I hear multiple parts in my head and have an auditory vision when writing and performing that most people just don’t seem to have. To my surprise, my son has the same thing and proved this to me while I was writing ‘Days Go By’ on the ukulele. He sat down beside me and said he had a keyboard part that would work. And boy did it work. As he has also spent the last year learning the alto sax, I threw a bit of that in the background of the second verse. As this hobby/passion seems to continue to intertwine with family, I am over the moon with Jack sharing in the journey of being an artist. Video and album cover are both shot down in wonderful Port Dalhousie in early July. Ryan Thomas Smelle is a singer/songwriter that has been playing in and around the Niagara Region for over 20 years. He is often found performing solo as ‘Ryan Thomas Smelle’ or as a duo/trio under the names of ‘Ryan Thomas Duo’ or ‘Ryan Thomas Trio’ respectively. His music crosses many genres and includes acoustic, pop, rock, folk, country and adult contemporary. Ryan will liven up any venue with his upbeat charismatic performing, and interactive crowd engagement along with providing some ear pleasing melodies, hooky riffs and catchy choruses.
